How to book a accommodation on Koh Phangan?

• Choose a resort and room type from the accommodation directory or use the search page.

• Fill out the enquiry form
  
  
• We will contact you by mail / phone. If the requested resort is available, we will send you an email, that includes a payment link to PayPal.
  
  (If the resort is not available, we can suggest you availible alternative places for accommodation)
  
  
• Follow the payment link, then choose your payment currency and click on 'next'
  
  
• Click on 'proceed to PayPal', follow the steps on their site
  
  
• Once we receive your advance payment, we can reconfirm your reservation
  
  
• On arrival, just tell them your name and that you booked with 'PhanganIsland'

Unfortunately the amount of required advance payment is different from each resort or season, but most of them want at least 40% of the total price in advance for a confirmed booking.

As soon as we receive a payment we forwarded it to the booked resort and send you a confirmation back.

For the days around Full Moon Party (next party is in 19 days, on the 1th of March), resorts often require a 100% advance payment, and even sometimes a minimum stay of 3 days or more.

Information about Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan Island is to the northeast of Surat Thani, about 20 kilometers from Koh Samui.

Its area of 170 square kilometers, or 106,250 rai, is surrounded by several minor islands such as Koh Tao, Koh Tae Nok, Koh Tae Nai, and Koh Maa. Vast plains stretch out on the west coast of the island, while steep cliffs drip to the sea in the east. It is encircled by charming beaches, beautiful bays, and clear waters, with an abundance of coral reefs and marine life.

Over 70% of its total area is mountains and tropical forest the lowlands is mountains and coconut fields.

The most important product of Koh Phangan, besides tourism, are coconuts. Each month Koh Samui and Koh Phangan produce more than 1 million coconuts for export over Bangkok.

Kohpangan has many undeveloped beaches and waterfalls, a few of them only reachable by trekking through jungle paths or using a boat.

Simmilar to the neighbor island, Phangan is enjoying enormous increase in tourism numbers also it is well know its own right for its every month held infamous Full Moon Parties happening at Haad Rin . Due to its big party scene some people have dubbed Phangan the Ibiza of the east.

Koh Panghan's climate is the whole year a perfect for a holiday. Blue-sky days and a steady ocean breeze are the norm. The best time for a visit, end of December to late of March is the best tropical island experience.

Even Phangan was at the beginning explored by backpacking hippies about twentyfive years ago, the island was actually inhabited already about 2000 years ago by sea pirates driving with their boats from the area today called malaysia. Phangan was a few years later swarmed by Chinese coming from the chinese province Hainan fleeing their country.

Climate in Thailand is extremely equatorial, high temperature and wet. Most of the time season are designed by monsoons that create three climate seasons in Northern and Central regions of Siam and two contrastive seasons in south-central part of the Kingdom of Thailand. The southwest monsoon happens around May to Oct is rainy and many clouds, the north-east monsoon approx November to Mar is bone-dry and comparatively colder.

Fullmoon Party

The Full Moon Party has moved on from a ghetto blaster around a beach fire, to over ten large dance floors, with large sound systems blasting out of various bars most of the way down Haad Rin beach. They play everything from Reggae to R'n'B, Drum & Bass and Psy-Trance and most of them come with excellent lighting systems to match giving loads of different effects. Most of the bars also have beach mats with tables on them on the beach, so if you’re worn out from dancing you can just sit, chill, have a drink and wait for the sun to rise.

Halfmoon Party

The Half Moon Party is held in the jungle at Ban Tai, half way between Thongsala and Haad Rin. The easiest way to find the party is to take a taxi, with taxis to the party from all over the island and most of your bungalow resorts as well. And if your mad and want to take your motor bike or jeep, no problem, just take the road that goes from the 7/11 at Ban Tai, to Thong Nai Pan for about 2 km, and then just follow the music coming from your ears and the crowds heading into the jungle to the party. Blackmoon Party

The Black Moon Party is held in the same area as the Half Moon Party, Ban Tai, but rather than being in the jungle, it’s held on Ban Tai beach at the Mac Bay Resort. As you walk around the dance area and the resort you will instantly they have installed loads of florescent paint and florescent decorations  hanging from everywhere with black lights hanging as well, giving a great glowing effect all over the place. The Black Moon Party is perfect for this type of effect as it is held on the darkest night of the month. The party is not for free, you will have to pay entry fee.
